Oxford’s Strawbale Studio Announces 2022 Program Lineup
Strawbale Studio, which seeks to empower others to take part in the construction of structures and environments that are ecologically sustainable and beautiful, has planned educational tours, workshops and meetings. The first of the 2022 tours of Strawbale Studio and grounds will be Saturday, January 29, from 10 a.m. to noon. February’s tours will be Friday through Sunday, February 18-20, from 10 a.m. to noon.
See the thatched and living roof, strawbale and cob structures, earth oven and rocket stove and more. Tours are limited to six people, and the cost is $20. Workshops are offered each of the tour days. In addition, full moon meetings happen monthly via Zoom and are free, giving attendees the chance to share inspiration and current projects.
Deanne Bednar, coordinator of the Strawbale Studio Natural Building Program, says, “Natural building helps us connect again to our local natural environment, to our own intuitive and innate creativity and to each other. It gives us the opportunity to build in a way that is affordable, empowering, community building and life affirming.”
