Lucky's Natural Foods in Lake Orion will host two healthy lifestyle events in March, a baking class with Sprout Bake and an introduction to dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). "Baking with Sprout Bake" will take place on Wednesday, March 8, at 5:30 p.m., and "Intro to DMSO" will take place on Thursday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m. These sessions continue Lucky’s reputation of family-led community service and wellness education since 1974.
At the baking class, learn to make three different gluten-free, dairy-free treats from Lake Orion’s own Sprout Bake, which specializes in four flavors: double chocolate, pumpkin spice, lemon chia and the original kid-tested sweet potato cinnamon. Sprout Bake sells baked goods and frozen batters in stores in Rochester, Caseville and Macomb.
Nicole Taliercio, health educator, will present on DMSO, covering what it is and its many uses for natural health and wellness. “I have a thirst for knowledge and learning,” she says. “I have spent the last five years doing just that. I will help you to understand DMSO and how to use it properly.”
The Intro to DMSO session is free, and the baking class costs $20. Lucky's Natural Foods is located at 101 S. Broadway St., Lake Orion. For more information, call the store at 248-693-1209 or visit LuckysNaturalFoods.com.
